SOLS is the right place for those that want to grow professionally and experience how non formal education works in Malaysia. Management allows junior staff to develop and improve professional and personal skills, test out ideas and finally experience the beauty that Malaysia has to offer. With a wide variety of projects always ongoing, whoever is willing, will be able to learn from colleagues, teachers, students and partner communities. SOLS is a place for making life long friendships and for experiencing what communal living is. Overall, most of the people I have met in SOLS have made wonderful experiences, challenging and rewarding at the same time.
Cons
Seen the high amount of volunteer and intern hired, there is a high turnover. Wages are not competitive but will allow you to live well enough and travel in SEA.
