Cons
Unfortunately ownership is the problem. One shouldn’t yell at their employees or break down during a staff meeting (of 5 hours) crying about how much money the salon is losing while simultaneously taking $6000 perm courses (just the owner, that only randomly does hair so basically never did maybe 4 perms) or purchasing random equipment in hopes of starting a head spa. (Also never used). Ignored staff (all but two) for a whole week after we were called in to Halloween decorate (unpaid and for some on their days off ) there was never a time frame communicated we assume it’s because most of us left after an hour (the two that weren’t ignored stayed late. never communicated. Called us into the back room in the middle of the work day and snapped at us because apparently we don’t like Christmas because no one is helping decorate. there were Christmas boxes put in the back room with zero communication that we were supposed to open them and decorate they were just passively put there in hopes we’d start decorating the salon during our downtime, zero communication. This resulted in no Christmas party for the salon because we “hate Christmas”
manipulative inappropriate childish behaviour not a proper leader in any way shape or form.
Really unfortunate honestly because it could’ve been so good. The owner you meet at the interview isn’t the same owner you work for after a couple months in, same person different side. I adored my coworkers but we’ve all left now.
