No Room to Grow - Anonymous employee STRUT Employee Review

There was lots of flexibility with regard to hours at this job. I have a daughter in school and because the owner started her business in order to work around her own child's schedule like 19 years ago, I found that she was very understanding. There was lots of room to grow, and always something to do. The boss, Helena, was invested in making us better sales people and better versions of ourselves, even when it was kind of tedious. I really felt better as a sales person and employee once I left (because I had to move). I earned good commissions when I sold human hair wigs and that was a real good incentive to sell more. The customers also tip sometimes when you style their wigs or extensions.

The only cons have to do with the clients themselves, not the business or coworkers etc. The clients can be mean when they have so many other stress factors in their lives (illness, etc). But you learn to manage, as not all of them are like that, they just stand out

Working with the two women that have been there was a major plus. I learned so much from those two.

I felt I was mislead into this position. I worked with the owner about a half dozen times in the duration of 9 months. I believed I was going to be working with the owner more. Many times I called the owner for advice or help and it was frowned upon even though we were directed to contact her if we needed anything. I felt Even though our duties were compete nothing would ever be good enough. The girls in the shop were nothing short of amazing.
