Pros

Students are great, instructors are awesome. The lower you are in the totem pole as an employee the better your work/life balance. This training will get you to understand how programming works and lead you to creating some pretty decent looking website. Projects you work on are real world project from "Dreamer Start Up Companies" that have a shoestring budget. The market is saturated with Coding Bootcamps - if you make a decision to join one you have plenty to choose from. Make a wise choice.

Cons

These start up have had their idea ripped off by the owners of Sabio if they see that there is potential in the software. Founders are looking for other ways to make money even it means ripping off an idea from someone else's hard work. Owners are opportunist and like to take advantage of free money. They take advantage of the Government's GI Bill by accepting Veterans that are just not going to make the cut in the industry. They convince them that anyone can program and earn a high paying salary. This is not true. The higher you are in totem pole or the more you get paid you have to work longer hours. These hours may take into burning the midnight oil. You're expected to be at work the next day wide awake and on time to teach after staying up late. This will kill early in life. While I was employed, they wanted to track every minute of your day. Why? Who knows! There were less than a hand full of instructors working for them at the time and 2 of us (former students turned instructors with no real work experience) were asked to indicate what we working on every minute of the day. No one does this in a real work environment. You're basically treated as an assembly line worker (they at least get breaks and only work 8 hour days). The median salary of $65k/yr is true but you have to be a natural hustler. Lie thru your teeth and tell potential employers that you can do the job (even if you know you can't). Basically, you have learn some basic programming skills to learn to lie to get money. Their motto: "Fake it until you make it" (this slogan resinates thru the whole training program). If you can't pass a background check due to criminal history you just lost all your money cause you're not going to get hired anywhere. Company stock/shares (whatever you want to call them) are worthless. They don't own anything. It's a training program without any patents or copyrights. It's a gimmick to pay you less than what you're worth. Besides, what's your next step after instructor? You can't become an owner! You can't become a partner! Instructor is the top spot. In order to get paid more you have to work more. You might as well get a second job at that point. Coding Bootcamp market is so saturated that former students have started their own coding bootcamps for far less money than what you will pay at Sabio and get a more passionate teacher will to spend more quality time with you. As far as job growth the median pay for a coding instructor is about $130k/yr. Most coding jobs pay about $150k+/yr with much better benefits and better work/life balance. There is no potential for growth as an instructor. Any material you create belongs to the coding bootcamp. Instructors they hire have criminal history. Don't believe me? They personally DO NOT run background checks on their instructors. I challenge Lilliana & Gregorio to run a background check on all their former employees and publish the results. The public would be shocked at the people hired. It doesn't stop there... The students that are accepted into the program have criminal records that are just as bad if not worse than the instructors. Another challenge for the founders: Publish the results of student background checks.
