I have few good things to say about working here. The culture, lack of empathy and almost non existent HR dept was shocking. Leadership was sexist. I was disappointed with my employer during the COVID pandemic. Admissions was forced to report to work everyday (July 2020 on) and interact with colleagues and prospective students/parents in-person everyday. COVID spread like crazy through our building and several people got sick from reporting to work. It did not matter how many people got sick from COVID in our building, the policies did not change. Anytime someone was out with COVID they were shunned by the other people in the office because they got to “work from home.” It was a terrible work culture. SHU did not care at all about the well-being of the Undergraduate Admission employees. All SHU cares about is getting students to enroll and getting those tuition dollars $. I have never felt like I mattered less than I did while working for Sacred Heart.
