Pros
The owners of the company are wonderfully nice and good people. I like them both personally.
Good and competitive salaries. Annual increases keep up with inflation; usually around 3 percent, The annual bonus is from $1000 to $1500 given just in time for Christmas shopping. Great health plan where there is no cost to the employee for premiums, even for full family plans. Any out of pocket costs for co-pays etc, are re-embursed for a maximum of $1000 per year, so it's rare health care actually costs you very much.
The 401k retirement plan through The Principal Financial Group matches 8% of your salary with a standard 5-year vesting schedule. Time off benefits are excellent, with 5 weeks of paid vacation a year and 10 paid holidays (8 fixed and 2 floating)
Cons
The company has a hard time getting new business and retaining people who have ambitious career goals. The owners are both trying to be fully-billable employees, which would work out fine if they had someone else developing new business or allowed some of the existing employees some autonomy in proposal writing / and executing them.
The company works within the Intelligence community and has been ineffective (maybe their fault or maybe not) at getting clearances for new hires. Promises to employees about an employee stock ownership plan have been unfulfilled for the nearly 5 years I have been here.
