I worked at Sage for seven years and the experience was great. Everyone is extremely knowledgeable and competent; management is very understanding and flexible so long as you keep them appraised of your situation; I got a straightforward and fair yearly evaluation and an annual raise. They also permit remote work — and in fact did so before COVID made it common — and offer a 5% 401k match.

Only one health insurance option, but it was not too expensive.

I can boldly say it is one of the best environments to work in for a techie. You have reasonable deadlines and its not one of those crazy fast paced working environment where you are ALWAYS under pressure to meet deadlines thereby working on weekends and spoiling your work life balance. There is plenty of opportunity to learn new things and experiment with technology. There is also good understanding, bonding and teamwork between everyone. You have a lot of flexibility as well.

The only thing I can probably think of is that the projects are not enterprise level with hundreds of thousands of users and tens of teams involved in collaborating among themselves for the development of a single project.
