Pros

The pay is okay with differentials for undesirable shifts or proficient speaking ability in other languages.

Cons

Management is cliquey and cruel towards anyone they deem as an outsider. Favoritism runs rampant, and if you're not a favorite you're actively shut off from crucial information that you NEED to do your job. Management enjoys publicly berating staff and embarrassing them in front of others. The work itself is okay, except for being micromanaged to the point where you will be actively on the phone with someone, receiving messages from the management team about everything you're doing wrong. It's a very "heads in beds" mentality, there are no people, just numbers with unattainable quotas and the constant threat of a PIP above your head when you inevitably cannot meet the quota in your first month. Because of these things, the turnover is actually insane. In a few months I watched crazy numbers of employees come and go. New "batches" of trainees every month come in with high hopes, only to have maybe one person out of a group actually stay on the floor for a substantial amount of time.

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience. At Sandstone Care, admissions and clinical decisions are reviewed by licensed nurses and therapists to ensure every client is appropriate for the level of care and that safety comes first. As an accredited organization, we hold ourselves to high standards of integrity, professionalism, and accountability, both in how we care for clients and how we support our teams. Behavioral health is a demanding field, and the work in admissions is especially complex, balancing access to care, clinical appropriateness, and operational realities. While expectations are high, our goal is always to create an environment where people feel respected, supported, and able to grow, not one driven by fear or favoritism. We take feedback about leadership culture, communication, and psychological safety seriously, and we continue to invest in training, clearer feedback loops, and stronger collaboration so that staff feel informed, valued, and set up to succeed. Your perspective is part of that learning, and we appreciate you sharing it.

Pros

For some roles there is some flexibility and there are a few genuine and good people.

Cons

Based on my experience, I would not recommend this organization as a place of employment. Some of the concerns noted in other reviews were consistent with what I observed during my time there. In my role, expectations often felt misaligned with the actual scope of responsibilities, and there was a recurring pattern of increased workload without an adjustment in compensation. The starting compensation range for many roles also appeared low relative to the level of responsibility required. The individuals working within the organization are highly educated and qualified professionals, and my experience suggests a need for more sustainable compensation structures in relation to workload and expectations. At times, there also appeared to be a limited understanding of the demands placed on clinicians and site leadership, from the perspective of leadership and HR, which impacted clarity around roles and workload distribution. Additionally, the organization would benefit from improved structure, coordination, and more consistent internal processes, as there are inefficiencies related to how the organization operates. Overall, my experience reflects ongoing structural and operational challenges that made the work environment difficult.
