Pros

It was close to my house.

Cons

So I was there only 90 days and for a good reason. I did my best to fit into the company mold of a smiling, hunky dory idiot the entire time. I smiled and waved when people insulted me and were rude. I tried to the best of my ability to learn my specific job (which in guest services is to know everything) and I was met with hostility prior to even starting. The woman who was doing my interview said I was "distant and didn't want to be their" even though I was participating, answering questions, and making jokes. We had ZERO customer interaction, it was 4 hours of me and two other people sitting in a room watching company propaganda, and yet somehow I received a negative performance review when I was never allowed to perform. As more time went on I was racially insulted by customers on multiple occasions and nothing was done. However when a male customer observed my female supervisor struggling with a computer glitch and said "Maybe [insert my name here] should handle it; all the female supervisors had to have a 10-minute support group. Then as my time went I was falsely accused of theft and chastised when I wanted to alert human resources. Then, later on, it was brought to my attention that every move I made and every word I said was being documented by people from other departments (I assume this was at the behest of people who wanted me gone by this point). I made sure to smile and wave at everyone I met because I assumed they would do something like this so the "evidence" against me was fabricated. In the end I was threatened with termination for "seeming aggressive, and unhappy". I am an African American so maybe my face with a smile was the equivalent of a frown in any other race. Meanwhile, my female blond coworker could talk about murdering her roommate openly (also another Santa Cruz Seaside employee) and none of the female supervisors cared. When I submitted my two weeks resignation I could tell that management was trying to hold back their smiles to be professional. I was promptly replaced with a transsexual female to better fit group atmosphere. Overpriced food.
