Pros
My coworkers are great; I always have fun when I come into work. It's a fun, busy environment and I have learned a lot in the years I've worked at SMO. I always have at least one funny story to tell every day, I find that really exciting. The kids seem so happy to finally get to ride the Segway, and jump up and down when they complete their ride and learned how to control it on their own. Pay is decent for floor staff, which is 14/hr. You also get PTO as part-time, and SMO makes calling out/taking time off very easy. :)
Cons
It seems there is absolute zero way to move up in this place. All the higher-up positions are people who have stayed there for upwards of a decade. I'm glad they have a stable job, but I do wish there was some way to work your way up at SMO, or at least eventually get some sort of raise, It's a very rare chance that a higher-up position opens up. Also, the workload dump is real. Guests and parents see us as babysitters, instead of facilitators which is annoying. Most times, expect to be exhausted at the end of the day, emotionally and physically! I've also witnessed a few issues with HR barely doing anything about serious situations involving staff.
