Pros

Good pay, free train travel

Cons

Unsociable hours, working earlies, lates, weekends, holidays, dealing with the public and a truly thankless task. Often between a rock and a hard place with Scotrails poorly managed operations and customers getting poor value for money. Nepotism is rife and often shelters the lazy hopeless individuals who are untouchable whilst stifling those who do want to progress. You'll be fine as long as your face fits. Hopefully you get a manager who isn't just coasting along waiting for retirement. Feral youths who will enjoy making your shift 'memorable'. You will inevitably get trapped by "the money" but trust me, life is too short for this amateur nonsense. Not supportive of mental health issues, even after PTSD diagnosis following railway suicide.
