Pros

There is a lot of team activities, in particular parties where everyone gets drunk. If you're into that, you're going to enjoy working at Scribbr. Since it's a scale-up, there's quite a lot of room for growth in most roles and people can be creative and contribute their own ideas.

Cons

Within the management team, friends of founders are given management roles that they are clearly not qualified for (and make half of their team leave), and generally the management team is a group of friends, which makes it hard to advocate for yourself and creates a feeling of intransparency and 'us vs them'. Besides that, almost all managers have little experience with leadership, which can create some very difficult situations. Scribbr tends to pay low salaries, so if you're thinking of applying, inform yourself and negotiate what you're worth! If you're a recent graduate and care about parties with your colleagues, Scribbr might be the right place, but if you're a more senior person who is seeking a professional environment, there might be more suitable companies for you out there.

Dear former team member, Thank you for providing your review and valuable feedback. Honest feedback is something I admire a lot and only from feedback we can learn and grow as an organisation. I would like to ask you if you are open to having a phone call with me to discuss your feedback? In our transition from a start-up to a scale-up we have much to learn and your feedback can help me focus on the things that matter most. Thank you, Bas Swaen CEO and Co-founder Scribbr

Hello, Thank you so much for taking the time to share your positive experience as a freelancer at Scribbr! We've always believed in a great work-life balance, and always strive to create an environment that fosters flexibility and positive communication. Given the seasonality of our business, it is true that we can't always guarantee consistent work, however we are happy to hear that it was a satisfying amount for part-time freelancing work. Thank you again for being a part of the Scribbr community, and for your contributions. Best, Marta Polizzi Operations Manager
