Terrible Culture - ER Medical Scribe ScribeAmerica Employee Review

Pros

Clinical experience, patient contact, physician contacts

Cons

Low pay (which they lied about), few non-ER opportunities (which they also lied about), incompetent 20 year old kids in authority positions (think high school mean girl type cliques). Your job is to try and fill out the electronic health record so that the hospital can bill at the highest level and get the maximum reimbursement possible from the insurance companies. If you make the hospital more money than you cost them in scribes, mission accomplished. "Making the physicians jobs easier" because ultimately "helps patients", all lies. you drive up deductibles and cost patients more money by maximizing billing. You are an added layer of leech on a bloated system. And the company itself has a toxic culture.

Thank you for taking the time to leave us this review. Welcome to the ScribeAmerica team! We are so glad to hear you are having a great experience with us so far, and we are very excited to help you prepare for whatever your future career goals are. As a reminder, we do offer a referral bonus for anybody you refer to work with ScribeAmerica, so please talk with your manager to get all the details on that. We also do like to promote from within and a large portion of our higher level management/corporate roles/etc all started out as scribes themselves. If you ever have an interest in learning more about other roles that would be available to you, or ways to prepare to apply to those types of roles, please feel free to reach out to tasupport@scribeamerica.com and we would be happy to talk with you further.

Pros

I believe there's flexibility in some hours. Paid training.

Cons

My onboarding process has taken over 2 months and I've only clocked in for mandatory trainings with little to no communication from managers or hiring staff. $10 an hour.
