Pros

Pay is meh, Nice perks, fully remote, that’s it

Cons

The entire recruiting and marketing function is completely incompetent. I spent DAYS working through 8+ rounds of interviews and the overall process took months. Assessments, presentations, panels, HR, senior leadership. I get told I’m getting an offer and just need to provide references. A FULL WEEK goes by and I hear nothing. Turns out the hiring manager quit 3 weeks prior to my last interview, which the entire team knew and couldn’t be bothered to mention until I did a full presentation. They tell me they’re pausing the role but will be in touch once they backfill. Guess what, they reposted the exact same role 6 months later and had me interview fully for it again just to pull the exact same thing AGAIN. Can’t believe I fell for it. Shame on me. I’ve never had my time so disrespected and don’t let their HR ra ra fool you. If this is how they hire and try to impress talent, imagine what it’s like on a day to day. Zero respect, zero honest, zero compassion.

Pros

You get to work alongside some very intelligent people. Unfortunately, many of them end up leaving for companies that treat them properly.

Cons

Leadership is extremely pretentious and does not know how to run a successful company. As a result, Seed is having an identity crisis and is struggling to remain authentic and relevant. The CEO doesn’t have a genuine bone in her body and very much appears to be taking the strategy of “fake it till you make it.” The CSO is just there to collect a paycheck and has a foot out the door. The CMO came from a failed and delisted biotech company and is running Seed into the ground now too. Seed is a one trick pony who got lucky with DS-01–a now dated product that pales in comparison to what other companies are doing in the gut health space. Their new products are a poor attempt at a quick revenue boost without proper care and consideration for product longevity. It’s unlikely anyone will acquire this company and they’ll just keep spinning in circles until the capital is drained.
