You may have noticed that there hasn't been any new reviews on Seenit for over a year this is simply because from a company that started (when i joined) at 35, has now diminished to under 21 (and still falling) in just under a year.
There is a huge list of cons including:
* The company itself has no long-term business strategy.
* Each new 'feature' is never fully completed. It's left half finished because of the number of priority changes. (This is understandable for a 'start-up' however this is nearly every single feature)
* There is an enormous amount of 'hacks' which has led the company to start from scratch and architect the entire system (this is only 5 years old).
* The board and senior management have put no emphasis in to the 'technology' side of the business, instead this is focused on selling - essentially a platform that is never changing or iterating.
* The mobile apps have no app support i.e. there is no mobile team and the businesses 'plan' is to hire 'offshore development' which has been in 'discussions' for over 8 months.
* Senior staff take on way too much responsibility, can't prioritise and end up running around like headless chickens whilst day to day staff have pretty much nothing to do - since there isn't much tech development.
* There are concerns raised frequently by staff but senior management refuse to change / invest in the right areas of the business. This includes not taking leavers seriously - not even trying to understand the reasoning why people are leaving and seeking other employment.
* Constant back and forth with decisions even down to HR level. This includes mentioning a paternity leave which is equal to maternity and a few weeks later revising the entire statement after it was announced (it is now back to the minimum 2 weeks).
* No career development plan unless you're happy to take on other things that aren't part of your job role. Although you may find yourself shooting yourself in the foot by picking up the wrong set of skill set if you choose to move on further down the line i.e. if you're an engineer do you really want HR skills as part of your development?
* Toxic work environment as there is no discipline for staff because there is no HR. You may think you're too old for high school but think again if you decide to join Seenit.
Also just as a side note - if you do decide to move on to another job after working for Seenit. Prepare for senior management to 'ghost you' i.e. not been invited to future meetings, no exit interview, and you can forget about a proper leaving celebration for your work because the bitterness for your 'betrayal' will overshadow the work you've put in by being an employee.
