Pros
Lots of hours, leads are usually pretty cool, if from out of town they provide motels and have a company house while in hitch
Cons
The supervisors are not hands on at all!! They manage from the office therefore the “buddies” of them are given the pads that pay 18 hours a day. We merged with Rockwater and because they made more and got paid 24’s they finally gave us 18 hours a day for certain jobs. Of course once that happened the good ole boys let their friends work the good ones while those of us who bust our rear ends off and don’t miss work, we get stuck on frac watch for 14 hours a day. With overtime that comes to about $600 a week. After doing nothing but the 18 hour pads for four months they move us around and we lose our hours. They thought they would get all the business that Rockwater had but that failed because the customers didn’t trust Select because they know how they are. The under bid everyone and have nothing but green hands for the most part. I worked there a while and there were very few of us who had been there more than 6/8 months. We had leads with 2 months experience and as a hand most of us could be better leads if ever given the chance. Stay away!! No room for advancement and it’s like spitting in the wind, it’s going nowhere. Use this to get your certifications and experience if you are just starting out.
