Pros
Friendly coworkers, the pay is decent, nice kitchen/rest area with free drinks and snacks.
Cons
In general, there is a huge lack of communication between the CEO, the managers, and the different departments who work at SelectBlinds. The promos are constantly changing, yet the management asks us to get things done months ahead. This causes a lot of anxiety and frustration. Changes aren't a problem, the tendency of asking for pivots is the real deal. They displayed several monitors in the open space which shows how sales are going. Unfortunately, and in this economy, we aren't reaching our goal even if every single one employee gives their best. All employees can see how bad our numbers are, and it really adds more anxiety around the office. The graphic guidelines are constantly changing, management is unable to stick to their decision and give clear direction. To this day, we still do not have clear graphic guidelines to rely on. Since Hunter Douglas acquired SelectBlinds, people from Selectblinds got fired and replaced by Hunter Douglas employees. Besides, Hunter Douglas management took the decision to reorganize the org chart without even consulting managers from SelectBlinds. The working from home policy is kinda weird (Monday/Tuesday/Friday at the office, Wednesday/Thursday at home). It feels like the company doesn't trust their employees and wants to keep an eye on them, especially on Fridays. Also, this policy only applies to ground workers, not the CEO or select upper management.
