Pros

Sensei Australia is a company that truly puts it's values and culture at the centre. As I've progressed through my career it has become increasingly important to me not just to make a living but also to do it in a way that matches my personal values. Sensei provides this, and that deserves high marks in my book, especially in the business world where dollars are often the only value given more than lip service. There are many long standing employees, some have been working together for 20 years. You are immediately made to feel welcome, collaboration and honesty is high, and everyone shares a passion for the organisation and what we're trying to do. The CEO Andy is top quality, runs the business by the numbers, provides good transparency on how the company is doing, and is both approachable and self aware enough to recognise if someone else has a better idea, both of which are excellent qualities in an executive.

Cons

The company is still relatively small and so there are still a lot of processes and such that are undefined. Such is the way with small companies though, and it's not necessarily a con, if you dislike red tape for example you might find this great. If you however want more defined structure then it may lead to frustration.

Pros

When I think of one, I will come back and fill section this in.

Cons

It’s unfortunate, Sensei had the right people from the start to create an amazing company and culture. The CEO refers to himself as the “Innovator” he’s more like a narcissist on steroids. The best part about the situation over there is that the CEO is so lacking in people skills, and emotional intelligence that he doesn’t even realize when he is being out right rude and obnoxious. He surrounds himself by a team of “Yes Men”, there are no women on the so-called leadership team which is really just a way for the CEO to mask his own bad decisions. Now, that I’m gone, they are down to 2 women. I mean out of a company of 12, they are small potatoes. Here’s another great fact - the CEO does no factual planning when it comes to sales and expectations of the sales team. He also has no experience with marketing or customer service. If you think the customer is always wrong this is your place! Overall, the CEO leads the company by fear, he does not empower people do be their best. He boasts about having a staff that can self-manage. The funny thing is that he is the epidemy of a micro-manager, and wastes everyone’s time by not giving clear instructions from the start and then forces people re-do the same work over and over again. If you like to be degraded, demoralized, and beaten down on a daily basis you will fit right in here.

Thank you for taking the time to submit your opinion of Sensei Project Solutions. We certainly are not perfect, but we are always striving to improve. It’s unfortunate that you had personal conflict with the CEO. Several of us have worked with him for almost 10 years and more, and we feel quite good about his continually improving leadership of Sensei.
