Pros
Unlike any other companies I have worked for, Sensient offers 'freedom' to becoming successful by utilizing your entrepreneurial capabilities. Especially in my role as GM, it is vital that am 'free' to make my own decisions, however, of course I will be also made accountable, which to me is if I run truly my own business. Further, in all levels of corporate or group leadership, there is a deep sense of support, everybody wants you to be successful, so there is an immense emphasis on (initially when you start) on-boarding, training, and mentor ship, even (or especially) from members of the executive leadership team. This overall is very unique to me, and has enabled me to perform to my best ability, and will continue to be a major contributing factor for my success at Sensient.
Cons
As in every global, large organisation, communication is key. Think global but act local. That has to some extend the 'habit' that we forget to leverage what our great colleagues do in neighboring countries, what is it they do so great which we can utilize, without wasting again valuable resources? I guess this is where we can and will improve, to break down the 'invisible borders' and share our successes as well as failures in all areas, and become eventually ONE.
