Pros

Free fitness classes, if they don't bump you out for a paid client, instructor or friend.

Cons

Low wages (adjusting employees shift punches without consent or notification). Not a lot of hours, broken promises of promotions after months of training for a position. Lots of drama! Bad benefits, even once you are full time insurance is astronomically priced, no 401k. Tons of turnover, because none of the good employees would stay for long. If you did try to stick it out for the long haul after promises & verbal offers of raises, promotions, etc, you were never rewarded or appreciated. If you do happen to work here make sure you get things in writing. For a studio with such a high price tag per class, you would think they could compensate their employees above minimum wage. Management pay is just as bad. The only decent pay comes from being an instructor with a full class.

Pros

Flexible schedule, worked mornings and evenings as well as subbing when available. Learned Sales, helped check in, fold towels, organize studio and retail. Kathleen was an excellent leader and there was a good group of welcoming instructors and front desk staff. Got free classes and very impressed with the Shred415 community aspect of partnering with other fitness studios for fitness crawls and similar events with local hotels and businesses for pop-up workouts. Not the usual culture of competitiveness and it made a difference.

Cons

None, great leadership and would have continued if I didn’t move out of town.

Pros

Awesome workout, great benefits, sweet staff and positive atmosphere.

Cons

The studio in Salt Lake City is operational despite the owner, not because of her. She makes impulsive, last minute and poor decisions that impact studio growth. There is always an excuse and explanation and never any insight. The studio is basically giving away free memberships, is cutting classes and constantly changing class times or announcing major studio decisions the day before. Would love to see a new owner whose business plan isn't throwing spaghetti at the wall.
