At the beginning, I would like to shed light on some discrepancies in the recruitment process. The internship program, which turned out to be a part of the EDGE, DU IIT Hire & Train program, was not explicitly mentioned until the inauguration program. The first month was spent without any provided devices, and the time was largely consumed by casual conversations. Here's a brief overview of the internship program: Insufficient Technology Support: The decision to allocate one device for two technology interns raises concerns about the practicality of learning in a shared environment. Technology, inherently requiring hands-on practice and individual access to devices, was hindered by this arrangement. Depriving interns of essential tools and internet connectivity for the first two months posed a significant obstacle to effective learning and productivity. The delayed provision of these fundamental resources challenged the interns' ability to actively engage and develop their skills, questioning the effectiveness of the internship program. Salary Discrepancy and Lack of Transparency: One of the most alarming aspects of this internship experience was the complete omission of salary details in the offer letter. The company failed to honor its commitment to a 12000 TK salary over three months, with each month supposed to be compensated at 4000 TK. After completing two months, only one month's salary was disbursed, leaving uncertainty about the fulfillment of the remaining two months. This lack of transparency not only violates professional norms but also raises questions about the integrity of the organization. Health Concerns Due to Meal Delays: Consistently delayed and inadequate provision of meals, often served after 3 PM instead of the customary 1-2 PM, has resulted in adverse health effects for some interns. Instances of gastritis, acidity, and food poisoning problems have been reported, highlighting a serious consequence of the company's failure to meet basic needs and adhere to standard meal schedules. This not only compromises the interns' well-being but also raises significant questions about the organization's commitment to the health and welfare of its interns. Lack of Training and Professionalism: The internship lacked substantial learning opportunities, with a noticeable absence of professional development. Instead, the environment seemed to be dominated by trivial and unproductive gossip. Deceptive Leadership: The integrity of the internship program is compromised by the dishonest and fraudulent behavior of the team lead. Their actions, characterized by deceit and scams, not only erode trust but also undermine the credibility of the entire learning experience. The misleading conduct of the team lead raises serious questions about the ethical standards and leadership within the organization, casting a shadow over the internship as a whole. Unprofessional Behavior: The overall behavior within the organization is marked by unprofessionalism, impacting the work environment and the overall experience for interns.
