Pros

Unlimited PTO. Ability to work from home from time to time. Company culture-fostering events like city-wide scavenger hunts once per year. You do feel like some of your coworkers truly care about you. The dev team has Hack Weeks where they can work on whatever they want (for the company) 4x/year. Lots of couches to sit on and natural light in the new office. Good office location right off the river, close to most train lines. Free snacks and beverages. Occasional free lunches during company meetings/events.

Cons

Extremely disorganized in terms of company product mission as a whole. Poor communication between Product and other teams. No 401k company match. Many teams are completely siloed, at least to some degree. Not much opportunity for career growth. Titles/roles are frequently changed without corresponding pay increases. The whole company bends over backwards for one client and focuses most of their efforts on just a few. The company sends out many evaluations and surveys but doesn't seem to really do anything with the results. Concerns raised and salary re-evaluations are perpetually postponed or ignored. Extremely poor transparency company-wide in regards to pay and company profitability. High turnover rate in sales department. Have recently lost a lot of longterm and loyal employees. Negotiate your salary well upfront because it's pretty impossible to get a raise outside of the designated annual raise/bonus period. From talking to coworkers there is a pay disparity between both new and existing employees as well as between men and women in the same role.

Pros

Remote First, It's in the DNA It's a mission driven org that doesn't feel the need for explosive growth. They have plenty of private funding without people wanting a ROI, they just want to ensure there is a privacy solution not beholden to giant corps Plus, you get to work with some tech celebrities

Cons

It's competitive. You're working with some intelligent, talented and driven individuals. For a while, I had impostor syndrome
