Pros
I got paid well. My boss was good at communicating goals and priorities. I really liked the people I worked with in my department. For me, the work/life balance was good. Some of the people I worked with were great.
Cons
Due to my position I had the opportunity to work with other departments on projects. Some of the people I worked with on some of these projects were good, hones,t hard working people and some of them were good at what they did. But on other projects I worked with people who, in my opinion had IQs below 100. They couldn't understand basic concepts and didn't want to accept change. The prevalent viewat Sterling is that change means that what you were doing before was wrong and you are incompetent. Therefore change wasn't embraced. Sterling is the leadrer in the jewelry industry therefore management belives that what they are doing is best-in-class. The problem is that their competition (major corporations, not the mom and pop jewelry stores) is more inept than Sterling, therefore Sterling looks like a star. As the saying goes, a one eyed person in a village full of blind people is king. Note to future employees, if your not that bright and don't like change then Sterling is the place for you!
