Pros

Silicon Valley Insight is a quality software solutions and consultant team. Everyone works remotely here with flexible hours that doesn't feel like you're working alone. Projects incorporate new technologies which makes development enjoyable and prevents it from getting boring. As a small tight-knit team we also get to dabble across front-end & back-end roles which is very fulfilling in growing yourself as a Developer. There's not much red-tape. Need to create a new app? Do it. Need to spin up a new server? Go ahead. There's typically no need to submit a form, get sign-off, or otherwise prevent work from getting done. You can see that John deeply cares about both our clients & our employees and makes sure that we are always improving and growing within the team at the same time enjoying as well!

Cons

We're a small consultancy type of company so occasionally we have to crunch to meet deadlines for our clients unlike a traditional company setup. However we're always improving at this on personal and teamwide levels.

Pros

- Remote working since pre-pandemic with in person touch points means the team has built norms and cadences that allowed experienced team members like me to have focused down time and flexibility to do great work while collaborating and building relationships with peers. People reach out to check in how you are doing as a human not just a team member - it goes a long way! - Strong colleagues who are skilled at what they do and care about the achievement and well being of their teammates and team as a whole. - Interesting work with a variety of different projects that have let me work on some of the most interesting and challenging business and technical problems in my career. - Room to grow, be your most effective, and take as much responsibility as you want. SVI has been a place where I've truly felt that the org supports its team members rather than "getting in the way" of work like other larger orgs I've been a part of.

Cons

- Need to be professional and autonomous. This is a great place if you're a professional who can work autonomous and collaboratively. It's not a great place for people who need to be micromanaged. Those who aren't self motivated to do good work will have a hard time keeping up amongst strong colleagues. - Get flexibility and give flexibility. This is a good place for balanced work/life integration but can be harder for those with rigid schedules who need complete structure at all costs.

We could not agree more, and thank you for sharing your insights with our future team members! SVI is not a good place if you prefer structure and schedules over flexibility and autonomy. We strive to make this a positive and fun environment and give people all the room and options they need to grow into new roles and responsibilities.
