Pros

The defining feature of Silverchair's culture is genuine, multi-faceted respect. I was immediately impressed by how they valued my prior experience, viewing my background with a competitor as an asset rather than a liability. There's a culture of 'no stupid questions,' which makes the onboarding process feel both efficient and psychologically safe. They have mastered the difficult balance between not handholding and not leaving you to struggle alone. Help is always there when you ask for it. In an environment where your time, expertise, and contributions are so clearly respected, putting in dedicated, hard work feels easy and natural.

Cons

Because the company trusts its employees, some processes are less formalized than at larger corporations. This allows for a lot of agility, but it might present growing pains as the company continues to scale.

Pros

People are helpful. Everyone seems to be accessible/approachable. Business decisions mostly feel solid, and people seem to trust leadership.

Cons

Silverchair seems to have taken on the worst kind of corporate nickel and diming. Expensive health benefits. No employer contribution to HSA. Time tracking for all employees feels intrusive and unnecessary. I negotiated for additional PTO, and it still cannot be described as generous. Parental leave is also not great. The office is closing, and there's no workspace or meeting space provided for local staff, with a few exceptions.
