Startup lifestyle offers flexibility but lacks job security - Technical Repair Center Manager Simbe Robotics Employee Review

Our product solves an actual problem. That simple fact motivates every single member of staff. I will also say that Simbe is very particular about who we hire and a good amount of energy is spent making sure potential new hires are a good culture fit. In doing so, we've assembled a group of LOVELY individuals whom I'm proud to be in the trenches with. I usually tell people that at my previous jobs, I've gotten bored within a year or 2. After 5 years at Simbe, however, my job continues to evolve and keeps me on my toes.

Startup life can be overwhelming and chaotic. Additionally, the better the company does, the MORE busy we are. So my only recommendation for those who have never worked for a startup: Understand what sort of a work environment you're signing up for.

Cross-functional partnerships feel natural, and everyone is willing to lend a hand. Growth & Development: The environment encourages professional growth and personal development. You’re empowered to take ownership, explore new ideas, and push creative solutions without hesitation. Leadership: Management provides clear direction and transparency. They give quick, actionable feedback and step in to remove barriers when needed. Trust is a cornerstone here, and leaders welcome creativity and fresh ideas. Work Environment: Even with plenty to do, there’s no unnecessary stress. It feels like a healthy level of challenge rather than overwhelming pressure.

As with any growing company, priorities can shift quickly, and it requires adaptability. Because the pace is fast, it can sometimes feel like resources are stretched, though the collaborative culture helps balance that out.
