Pros
- Robust onboarding process. As a new employee, I received all the guidance and resources I needed to understand the aims and inner workings of the company. I’m impressed by management’s attention to detail. - Ambitious, clear, precise goals. - A cool and useful product! Working on Simplesat projects feels rewarding, as we know exactly what they’re for and how they’ll help our clients. - Great communication. Management listens to ideas and is willing to course-correct as needed. - Flexibility. Simplesat is a great choice for employees who work well independently. We have regular sync sessions to make sure nobody is behind schedule, but other than that, we have the freedom to set our own hours. - A TRULY healthy office culture. There is no pressure to work on weekends or holidays. I haven’t noticed any in-group vs. out-group BS. Simplesat doesn’t engage in manufactured crises or other cheap tricks. Employees are treated like reasonable adults with lives of their own. - Even when something’s gone wrong, the tone of all interactions remains warm, friendly, respectful, and informal.
Cons
- Considering the hands-off management style, Simplesat might be a shock to employees who are used to working in a highly regimented working environment. - For the most part, our schedules are stable and our tasks are set well in advance. But there are times we’re asked to reprioritize, change tracks, or even scrap smaller projects. It’s part of the fast-paced and experiment-prone nature of the company.
