The burnout is very high and morale is very low. Additional work and responsibilities are piled on employees, without any extra compensation or benefits to balance out the workload. Sinclair expects and forces the workload of 2 or more people to be dumped on one person. This happens as corporate continues to buy more stations and cut staff. This is causing high turnover rates, along with employees struggling with low pay to begin with. The news team is forced to air "must-run" segments from corporate. The political pieces clearly have right-wing slants and no balance, which puts local TV stations in a dangerous situation of bias, when news stations should be impartial. Behind-the-scenes employees are under appreciated and underpaid while doing the most work. Instead of promoting from within, Sinclair often hires from the outside, which causes morale to plummet lower. Work-life balance is extremely difficult, as the stations work every holiday and the paid holidays are very limited. Corporate is very strict on overtime, despite pushing more work onto you. Not everyone is able to take a lunch break due to the additional work and deadlines.
