Pros
Everyone you work with will be young enough to get new-age references Unironically has a high base pay for minimum wage jobs around the area plus they consistently hire 15 yr/old's.
Cons
Highschool part 2/summer school, your fellow staff will mostly be 15-18 yr olds, alot of work relationships which make the work difficult. Most managers(full time salary) that you interact with you show the lack of people skills, maybe due to constant turnover and quick promotions Will try to blackmail you to return next season even though 1. all "non full-time employees get termed out of the system after the season" and 2. they dont offer work opportunities to support yourself/pay your bills when its not the Six flags season(two months of summer) Has a contract with PG County to NOT pay 1.5 base rate for any hours over 40 hrs. Full time employees are known to leave the park early due to no clock-in/clock-out that will affect their pay. Favortism/Nepotism is rampant, I was a subject of heavy favoritism, in one season went from LifeGuard->HeadGuard->Supervisor when there were more qualified and experienced coworkers who coincidentally trained me. Endless rumors of allegations against many of the "of-age" males in the park, especially in leadership, yet the park doesn't investigate nor disperse said rumors. Managers and senior leadership also have work relationships, which they make no effort in hiding, and abuse the power at work to appease their partners, HR was notified of this for multiple seasons but decides to keep kicking it under the carpet. Managers would routinely "VAT" lifeguards they didn't like so they had credible reason to fire them, but would not document it when its a lifeguard they favor.
