Pros
Up until April of 2019 this was a 2.8 company with a less than 50% CEO rating. Please read all the good reviews, they are all very junior people and here's the thing, if you have 0-3 years of work experience, no need for a work life balance, LOVE gaming and working late, this is a PERFECT job for you. And that is my only Pro, if you're young and don't know any better, Skillz is a good job that will give you perspective for the rest of your career.
Cons
If you have any work experience and know how you should be treated, you should run far from Skillz. I have 15+ years of experience and it's the worst company I've ever worked for. And the company is doing great, which makes it so strange. Andrew the CEO is terrible. Ask around if you don't believe me, but if you're going to work for him directly, do your due diligence, most don't make it 6-months. Ask them why they can't hire a head of HR. They have been trying but no one will take that job. Ask them why the executive turnover is out of this world crazy. I just counted and from when I started, Director+, 60% are gone. And it's been less than 2 years. Read all the good reviews from April 2019 and on, they all have the same tone of a young person excited about working. I can't emphasize this enough, if you have work experience, you need to look at reviews like mine and the others that are trying to help you not make a big mistake. I need to say it again, because it's so important. If you are going to work directly for Andrew or Casey, you need to really dig deep into your soul and see if you want that type of hell. Look for people on LinkedIn that are Director+ that have worked at Skillz and talk to them. Any of them. I'm 10000000000% positive you'll thank yourself for going through the effort. Do not think you can join and change things. Andrew and Casey have built an amazingly fast growing company that they love working at. They rule the company and are the most closed minded leaders I've ever worked for.
