Pros
Flexible on negotiating continuing education. Company provides healthcare, dental, vision, and disability. Decent employee prices on products and regular training with product representatives made for a well-informed staff. Company provides a monthly allowance to be used for treatments.
Cons
Rotating management and front desk team, high turnover rate. Therapists' schedules are inflexible resulting in burnout. Very few breaks given. Long hours. Expected to come in on short notice. Often times the schedule would be wide open and therapists would be expected to stay for hours on end without getting paid. Pay rate fluctuates, but rarely gets above a living wage including tips. They promise a 401K, but only eligible after 3 years. People rarely stay that long, so they conveniently forget to set the employees up. Vacation and paid time off hours accrue so slowly. I was there for three years and only accrued 11 hours of vacation time that I was denied. No spa attendant, the front desk staff had to attend to everything, and often times key amenities would be overlooked. Sub-par equipment and supplies run out really quickly. Evaluations are based on services and retail, but when the supplies aren't there to perform the services, and the retail is sold out with page-long waiting lists, the therapists can't climb higher.
