SkyWater Technology Foundry in Florida is a growing company working to enable leading edge technology in the Semiconductor industry. The current Fab work aligns well with Front-end-of-line processes, but the on-going expansion will enable advanced packaging and fan-out wafer level packaging applications which are primarily done overseas, so this is a great opportunity to get into a growing company which will provide multiple opportunities for growth/promotions in the near future. The Equipment Engineering/Maintenance team (where I worked) provides a great working environment where people help each other to address issues, and the Equipment Manager provides great guidance to the team. I have worked in the Semiconductor Industry for 23-years and I can honestly say, this management team truly values the employees. I knew all the different area managers on a first name basis and the company has an open-door policy where you can ask questions or bring up issues if/when they arise. The company has an Employee Committee that plans activities throughout the year (which include prizes), and I was personally involved with multiple activities in the community that the company paid for (golf events and Veterans Day events). The company is also involved in programs/activities in the community. The only reason I am still not working for SkyWater is that I had family issues requiring me to move to the West coast. If you are looking to work for a great company in the Semiconductor industry and you are wanting to learn leading edge technology applications within the US, this is the company to work for.
Cons
The summer weather can be tough to get used to if you grew up on the West Coast like I did, but the winter weather is great.
