Pros

- Steady work - Good introduction to the semiconductor industry

Cons

- Exposure to chemicals is common, and is not treated very seriously by the long timers, despite clear rules and training. - There is an absolutely massive problem that they have with talent retention. It has gotten to the point where they cannot find Minnesotans, so they are trying to relocate people who weren't staying anyway. This sounds ridiculous, until you get in there and you're the only person who's not from out of state. - Technology they are using is outdated in semiconductor industry, so experience here may not translate to better Fabs if you decide to use this as a stepping stone. - I have been loudly yelled at, while speaking in a calm voice, then verbally threatened with violence. - It seems like they go for the burn you out and throw you away strategy. - Can be very stressful, delicate work.

Pros

The work is meaningful and the processes involved make you think. Lots of very experienced and knowledgeable co-workers, which made learning on the job engaging.

Cons

Not enough people to provide support in all areas if someone is sick or has the day off. Communication issues arose between different groups such as engineering and production when tight deadlines need to be met.
