Pros

The sheer number of raw talent and hardworking people at this company is amazing. The tech is cool and will change the world from remote opps to automated fights. Skydio is a game changer in every industry. Certain teams work 60-80 hour weeks easily and never complain. That is the type of dedication any small company like Skydio would need for success. Amazing customer success and customer support teams. Although Skydio’s principals state, “We will not put weapons on our drones and will oppose fully autonomous lethal weapons systems. Our development process is focused on providing full automation, but we believe lethal weapons should not be fully automated.” Certain teams in the company don’t abide by it which is really good for global militaries and protecting various interests.

Cons

Information management and data flow is not transparent and often information is restricted or blocked from reaching the correct decision makers/executives or even the CEO by various middle managers (who at times do not even share information with each other). Key leadership positions in the company are filled by incompetent folks who objectively lack the expertise, experience, and capability to do the jobs well. It’s evident when they constantly ask others how to their job, or what should they be doing, or giving such bad guidance resulting in teammates losing faith and confidence. The products are awesome when they work.

Pros

In general if you're positioned well, there can be a lot of autonomy and freedom to work on what you want at Skydio. Interesting opportunity to explore new areas and quite flexible on the type of work you can do.

Cons

If you aren't positioned well you might get kind of stagnant career-wise. A few people make all the decisions and if you aren't aligned with them you might get stuck. Also if you are aligned well then your work life balance can get pretty bad. Also though it markets itself as a multi-use enterprise drone, the major use cases are police and defense so would be good to make sure you are aligned with the company.
