Pros
The people were the best things at Slide. There was a sense of camaraderie and unity among the individual teams. The people were also very talented and there were a lot of amazing contributions to the company.
Cons
The talent and efforts of the people working there wasn't utilized well. The goals set for the company were unrealistic of what was actually going on, and there was a lack of respect for a lot of employees' opinions and position. Office politics are a huge part of the company, and it was really hard to navigate and take in all the negativity that the environment was creating. There were extremely long hours put in, but a lot of people were not properly compensated or recognized for their efforts. There was also a serious lack of understanding of the applications in the company. Teams would be told that this is the goal they have to work towards, but it wouldn't be scalable over the long term. There was also a lack of professional growth for employees. While communication is really important, there wasn't a lot of good communicating going around. A very "in one ear, and out the other" mentality that ties back to the lack of respect given to the employees. There is a lack of good direction for the company to go in due to poor choices and it affected a lot of people.
