Good engineering team, good pay for beginners but not a place for technical growth - Software Engineer Smart Data Solutions Employee Review

Pros

- You will be learning ownership - Will learn a lot about the US healthcare domain - Great engineering team, good codebase, helpful team

Cons

- Technical growth is very limited. You’ll learn a lot about the healthcare domain, but not much about new technologies. - The workload has increased significantly. Developers juggle 8–10 projects at a time, which wasn’t the case before. - Yearly reviews have been outright disastrous. - Even a single project escalation can land you in PIP or lead to contract termination, so there isn’t peace of mind despite working 12+ hours a day. - The work involves more client interaction than working on the codebase. - Higher management has a peculiar obsession with working from the office, even for night shift employees, which doesn’t make sense since the company was performing well under the previous work-from-home policy.

Pros

I really enjoy working with my immediate team. We’re supportive, collaborative, and have built a genuinely positive working environment. My coworkers are one of the best parts of the job, and there’s a strong sense of trust and camaraderie among us. Day-to-day work feels manageable and even enjoyable because of the people I work with.

Cons

Outside of my team, the company can feel disconnected. Communication across departments isn’t always clear, and it sometimes feels like different parts of the organization are operating in silos. Additionally, the location I work out of can feel overlooked compared to others, which contributes to that sense of disconnection and lack of visibility.
