Pros

SmartWatt is a fast growing company that offers it's employees the ability to own their job functions and constantly improve processes. After learning and understanding the business model and company culture, it feels really great to be a part of something that is so successful. My team has a very open-door policy; If you feel like something should be changed or needs improvement, don't keep it to yourself. Discussing solutions and process improvement is rewarded and looked upon highly here. Team success and hitting goals are rewarded and broadcast on a frequent basis. We have a company newsletter and blog that are always showing who is doing a great job. I don't have a problem with my work life balance. I do my job, I have the results to show for it, and if I need to work a little harder and longer I do it when I can. Family comes first - and SmartWatt is very family oriented.

Cons

I would like to be able to interact with other offices more. I had the opportunity to meet other office members at the holiday event last year. I know that is something that will continue happening.

Pros

At the end of the day the company is doing good work. Utility programs hit their targets and LCI projects showcase both quality engineering and efficient operations management. The customer really is first at Smartwatt.

Cons

All this work is being put into pushing Smartwatts "core values", but something that should be great is really just being used to fire people who pissed off the wrong person or that they can't afford to pay anymore. It's all propaganda. Have an opinion or original thought that doesn't agree with one of the frat boys in upper management? Not a team player. Not passionate. Bad attitude. Prefer to keep your head down, lean in and just go to work but don't have an interest in blathering on letting everyone else know how much you're doing? Not competitive. Not solutions oriented. Underperformer. Basically if you want to be successful here expect to put in more work stroking the right egos and playing the game. If you're the kind of person who likes to spend more time pointing fingers while doing as little work as possible, you'll probably be able to stay here until retirement, but if you'd rather show dedication by getting the work done and putting in the hours you'll probably be fired. Or worse. There really us no credit or value given to those who prefer to walk the walk instead of just talking the talk. Oh and if you think that after all that that they'll just let you go quietly without humiliating, demeaning or threatening you on the way out, think again. There are no real friends here.
