Pros

Great PTO and holidays. Cool perks and experiences and exposure to art/luxury goods

Cons

Disorganized management. Entry level pay is bad across the industry. Very difficult to grow out of entry level

Pros

Intern class, programming, professional development, and arts & culture access were all great! It's an incredibly well-thought-out program and one I would choose to do again in a heartbeat.

Cons

Compensation is solid, though not enough on its own to cover the expenses of living in New York City. It's also clear that summer is one of the calmest times at Sotheby's, so it's likely not the most representative of the year-round working experience/culture.

Pros

Beautiful art/objects. You meet some really interesting and wonderful people through working on various teams.

Cons

This company is going downhill fast. Lots of drama and gossip likely due to dissatisfaction with work, pay, and overall treatment by the company. People are very unhappy here because they are acutely aware that the company they work for does not care about them. They value money over everything, even so they often do clients wrong as well (withholding payments, refusal to admit wrongdoings, etc.) The only thing saving them is their legacy and even that is holding on by a very thin thread.
