Pros
A true manufacturing plant under Barefoot Spas. Opportunity to learn about manufacturing, hot tubs, swim spas, etc. Travel the country. Attempting to introduce paperless system.
Cons
Unfortunately this list is extremely long. While the product is fairly good the sales pitch is high pressure and hoping for quick reactions. Shows are only on weekends for 3 days to increase pressure of sale. While we are told to not outright lie, you will need to do what it takes to make the sale. The owner is very into wording things specifically so that you can back track later and gas light the customer. The customer service team is sorely under staffed/funded and the warranty we offer isn't what is conveyed. Additionally they are trained to have the customer realize it was their fault it broke in the first place. Customers will be calling you constantly asking for solutions for broken spas or missing parts. You will be required to pay for your own travel(hotel/airfare/rental/food) and only receive a small reimbursement to "make you hungry". Commissions for sales are based on what the team does, although if you strike out your 1-3 opportunities you get no percentage of the cut. This does NOT mean that the pool increases for the others, and the company will just pocket the "extra" commission. Most of your co workers aren't exactly employable elsewhere and fit in with the toxic culture it breeds. Sales managers and owner will absolutely yell, hurl obscenity's, and make a scene in front of customers/co workers to make an example out of people they think aren't doing things correctly. The company is family owned, and several people who work there are related to the owner. While he will sometimes make a show about scolding them as "equals" it is VERY clear that the relationship they have secures their job and the ability to do as little as possible. In fact you will notice that they won't be going out of their way to help you unless it benefits them or they have been instructed to by the owner. There is a severe lack of accountability, training, and positivity through out the entire company. This leads to constant fear of your job and fear of making mistakes. The owner will fire good employees or even whole departments on a whim, or demote and demoralize others. There will never be any growth as the company is not financially capable of taking the next step.
