Pros
30% employee discount, pretty easy to learn management processes, and $3/hour bonus during store setup/teardown and critical weeks before Halloween
Cons
Scheduling is inconsistent, prior to store opening you're getting your schedule day by day. After setup is complete, hours are cut until the last few weeks before Halloween. Setting up and merchandising the store is physically taxing and in a very hot environment. Depending on when you start it's only a 3 month temp job (including upper management) so when they tell you there's "opportunity for advancement", it's a complete lie. Probably an acceptable wage for a shift supervisor, but seriously underpaid for an assistant manager. Management will not communicate goals or deadlines but expect you to already know somehow and will blame you if not achieved.
