Pros
Get to do things related to football
Cons
Management is arrogant and knows only surface level things about the sport. Example being labeling defensive players as “left inside off ball” instead of simply saying, this player is in the 10 technique position like coaches all across America do. Also, the entire interview process a Madden player could’ve passed. Questions like “what is cover 3” “what is cover 4” were very common. This is not an actual scouting job, you will be check marking boxes and typing info into boxes that when you’re finished, will be basically identical to the play by play you can look up on Google. You will also be doing this for 8/14 hours a day, most of the time on 6 hours of sleep but often times less. Hoisted as a “great opportunity to break into the football profession” by management but this is an outright lie. You must work the internship twice, (yes it is an internship, after three months you will be let go or resigned) then, in the words of a manger who shall remain nameless,“be lucky enough to have the owners have enough money in the budget to bring you back full time” which when it’s all said and done, is only about three people out of the 80ish they hire, WHEN they’re lucky. You will be working long hours, through the night, for days on end, all for nothing while being a glorified play by play editor. Technical support branch of the company is basically non existent besides the literal TWO people in it are overwhelmed because the company is too cheap to hire more people. I hope you’re prepared for stuff to crash and YOU being the one who has to work extra because you’re behind. To top it off you will be making $12 if you’re online and $14 if you’re in person.
