I have no cons I enjoyed my time

The Bagels are better than bagels from most supermarkets. No nights is good, but if you want a store management job, be ready to wake up at 4 AM every day, even on your off-days.

This is a company that simply does not care about its employees. The CEO has a massive ego and has hired his former cronies who tell him what he wants to hear. Since I left I have heard about 2 general managers who have been let go and these were good people who worked super-hard and gave 100% to this company every single day. The company is clearly not looking for PEOPLE, they are looking for soldiers that will keep their heads down, do as they are told and not ever question anything. I have so much I'd like to say, but I'll boil it down to this. I wish nothing but failure for this company because as is now, they deserve to fail. I was let go because during a snow emergency, the brain-trust decided that we should open our stores and I simply asked why? I was concerned about my staff being about to both get to work, but more importantly get HOME from work when the forecast was calling for the worst of it to be around closing time. The answer was, of course, money. CEO and COO wanted Spread to be known as the store that was open during big snow storms. (Just like they decided to open Christmas day this year rather than give their staffs a day with their families - "so people know we're the store that's open on Christmas day") Isn't that nice? No regard for staff or the governor of the state during the storm who said "stay home unless you absolutely have to go out". That's who Spread is. Upper Management who want to send their workers out in a snow emergency while they stay home in their warm houses. And when questioned as to simply "why?" (since it was unlikely we'd sell more than a little bit SINCE IT WAS A SNOW EMERGENCY) I was fired two days later for insubordination. I have no regrets because I fought for the workers in my stores and I would do it every single time. These guys will fight for the extra dollar but their people are expendable. If you do make the really bad decision to work there, don't EVER dare to ask a question about any company decisions. Just keep your head down, be a good soldier and you'll do fine. "SIR, YES SIR!" Leave your brain at the door and don't dare think or stick up for yourself. I waited a long time to write this, and almost just let it go, but people should know who this company is, so I put this out there. 100% true story. I did not deserve to be treated this way so maybe I can save someone else from going through it.
