Springer Publishing Company promotes and retains mediocre men in high ranking roles despite their lack of talent, skills, knowledge, and especially their lack of respect for women. This office is overflowing with sexism and misogyny. There have been SEVERAL incidents of sexual harassment that were filed and "investigated" but those who filed the complaints are no longer working there, while the men continue to work there and harass others. There have also been multiple repeated inappropriate comments about the way some of the women have dressed, and how past employees used to dress. The gossiping within the office of both current and past employees is also super toxic. Beyond these complaints, the vast majority of people working here are incredibly unskilled and not talented. Pretty sure they're aware of it, though, as there have been overheard water cooler conversations about folks moving away or taking other jobs but never taking action- because they know they aren't good enough to cut it anywhere else. Combine all of this with the absolutely dismal pay- though, really, it's publishing, so what were you expecting in that area- and you can ensure you will be miserable here. If you join the marketing team, consider yourself lucky if you're strong enough to stay on past a year.
