Pros

Just like anywhere, you’ll find some really cool people to work with. But that doesn’t really make this place stand out, in my opinion.

Cons

Too many to account for. I have worked for this company for a number of years and have worked in multiple departments. Only in one place was I truly happy with my job. Management at Luke’s is by far the WORST I have ever experienced. If you like the kind of manager that pretends to care but talks to your peers behind your back negatively, this is the job for you. If you’re having a rough month meeting goals and love threatening comments about your performance, look no further. If you’re a loyal, hardworking employee who loves getting denied a chance to move up or into a new shift because it was given to a coworker who has worked there less than 6 months, then this is really the place for you!! If you like to be treated with Intregrity, Compassion, Accountability, Respect and Excellence(their core ‘values’) STAY AWAY FROM LUKES.

Pros

Good PTO accumulation for veteran employees. Direct supervisors are generally pleasant to work with. Workload is more manageable compared to other local hospitals.

Cons

Benefits are lacking: health insurance is poor and matching contributions to retirement are lower than other employers. Wages are not keeping up with the rise in cost of living for the area. Most recent annual raise was higher than prior years, however raises must continue in this direction to correct the problem. HR generally seems hostile when approached with questions and are not transparent. No locality pay for Boise campus despite heavier/specialized workload and marked increase in cost of living. We have had employees quit simply due to housing unaffordability. Overall St. Luke's feels much more bureaucratic/corporate than when I started working there.
