Applied to this job as a full time position which was advertised as £10 p/h, but there were full weeks where I wouldn't get work, and everyone was paid minimum wage for their age group (noticeably most of the staff were under 21 so they could pay less), with tips split between everyone working, including chefs and managers (cash tips were also put into the system so taxed, so we got less). Worked there for a year but didn't receive a pay rise. Never received training but just expected to know how everything at this place worked, Which was very different from past restaurants I've worked at. You're not given food or breaks unless you work 8 hours, so they rarely will schedule you for that, but if you work the evening shift, you will often work 10+ hours because of clean up after, but you won't receive food then. Lots of people would have their breaks rushed because the restaurant was busy, and you wouldn't even receive a seat to sit in often on your breaks, but be expected to stand in the kitchen and eat in a cubbyhole place. there were three people who were either managers or had been there for years who created a bullying atmosphere, which led to the very fast staff turnover.
