Pros
Strategic Capacity Group (SCG) does meaningful and impactful work around the world. SCG's salaries are more than competitive and I have never worked at a place with so many promotion opportunities. If you like to travel around the world, there are many positions that will allow you to do so; you may end up traveling through Africa, Asia, Eastern Europe, or Latin America. Please note that not all positions are traveling positions. Regardless of what other reviews may say, diversity is significantly high across positions. In upper management (Deputy Directors and above) you will find that just over 50% are women and about 50% are people of color (POC). Most importantly, regardless of whether you are a POC or not, what will determine your success is coming up with solutions to solve challenges (thought diversity). If you are good at this, you will get quickly promoted. SCG also has weekly happy hours, great snacks, and really spacious office settings for everyone (during Covid, most people are teleworking). Its current location offers an amazing gym with saunas and it's close to a metro station. SCG also offers a transportation stipend or a parking space (employee's choice), and a 401K matching contribution plan.
Cons
SCG is still a small yet fast-growing non-profit. As with any fast-growing corporation, there will be growing pains. Policies and procedures are being written or expanded, however, it is also an opportunity to learn about how businesses work and leave your own stamp in making suggestions or collaborating in writing these new policies and procedures.
