Pros

- Great teammates to work with - Lots of work to do - Embracing and exposure to AI tools - Moving towards fully remote

Cons

- Lack of context and expertise on legacy part of the system due to layoffs that happened in the past - Abused incident management (bugs that often get escalated as outages, which is currently being addressed at this time)

This is thoughtful, fair feedback, and honestly very helpful! Huge YES to the shoutout on teammates, AI exposure, and the move toward fully remote 🙌 You’re also spot on about the legacy knowledge gaps and incident discipline. We recognize the impact past layoffs had on system context, and we’re actively working to tighten documentation, clarify ownership, and improve how incidents are classified and escalated (so not everything feels like DEFCON 1 😅). And with AI, speed matters, but so does judgment. AI is a powerful accelerator but never a replacement for our human expertise, context, and thoughtful decision-making. That balance is very much on our radar 🫡 Thank you so much for being candid and invested in making StrongMind better. Feedback like this helps us to keep leveling up! -Noelle Creamer Chief People Officer

Pros

StrongMind was founded by a true entrepreneur who still leads the company today, and that mindset shows up across the organization. Employees have real autonomy in how they work, and ideas are welcomed from every level. It feels like an all-hands-on-deck environment where people can make an impact. The mission is clear and meaningful. There is a strong focus on supporting students and families, which helps guide decisions and keeps internal politics low. The culture is positive and supportive. People are kind, collaborative, and leadership makes an effort to keep employees engaged and connected.

Cons

Like many growing organizations, there are times when priorities evolve quickly as new opportunities emerge. This can occasionally require teams to adjust focus or shift between initiatives. As the company continues to grow, there are opportunities to further streamline processes and maintain consistency across teams.

Thank you so much for taking the time to share this! We really appreciate it. I’m so glad the mission, autonomy, and overall vibe are showing through for you. That “jump in and make an impact” energy is exactly what we’re going for around here 😊 And fair call on priorities shifting. We’re growing, and we know that can feel fast at times. We are very dedicated to working on keeping things clearer and more consistent as we continue to scale. We are so grateful to have you on this journey with us and so glad you’re part of StrongMind! Pros

You get to help students.

Cons

Management is poor, things are always changing, expectations shift without being communicated. Management never takes responsibility for their mistakes and tries to pawn off any poor results to those without any control over outcomes.

Thanks for sharing your experience. We’re sorry to hear it didn’t feel like a positive one. Since our Rexburg location closed about a year ago, a lot has changed across the company, but that doesn’t take away from what you experienced at the time. Clear communication, accountability, and supporting our teams well are all things we continue to focus on improving. We do appreciate the work you did to support students while you were here and wish you the best moving forward! Noelle Creamer Chief People Officer
