Pros

You'll make good friends through trauma bonding, maybe.

Cons

The company talks a big game about values and people but the reality is a culture driven by pressure and poor leadership. Someone get these "leaders" some actual leadership training! Executive management is disconnected from both business reality and basic employee wellbeing. You'll always feel disposable and money always come first, with little concern for the psychosocial risks staff face both internally and with clients. Sure, it's a business - but they talk so highly of culture and "strength is in the pack" and pretend like they are different when they are no better than other larger consultancies. Hell, one of their mantras is "pressure is a privilege" - yeah because we should be thankful to be put under pressure? What toxic positivity, meritocratic bs is this? Many employees raised issues with these but nothing really changed. Instead, if you have constructive feedback of any kind, you become a problem with a target on your back. Oh if you're a business looking to hire Struber, they'll probably pump out most of it using AI and charge you a premium anyway. Was literally forced down our throats so we could be more "efficient" and super billable, often most employees doing over their capacity to make the business more money. Don't bother, better off doing it yourself with ChatGPT from some of the work I saw from people. The MD is also known to use her "energy" with men to win the business work - I know of a few industry circles where Struber is now BLACKLISTED because of how inappropriate some of the tactics are. I heard inappropriate comments from senior leaders that made employees uncomfortable, alongside instances where the company’s “female-led” identity is just a marketing tactic. You can say that all you want but if you're actions don't follow through with LEADING parental leave cover or being contacted to work at 6pm on a weekend then who are you really benefiting? Rapid promotions are often dangled as motivation, but pay rises rarely follow. You might wait six months to a year before seeing any adjustment, usually justified by vague “pay cycles" or whatever excuse of the season it is. Meanwhile, yearly restructures and redundancies are common, leaving staff feeling disposable rather than valued. Melbourne team went from like 15 to maybe 4 in few months in 2025

Pros

Some very lovely people somehow worked there

Cons

On my first day, “Shine Bright Like a Diamond” played in the background of a teams meeting. The on-camera staff were giving the GIF when you type in “awkward” and get the young girl who went viral. We all know that girl, and we all know that visceral feeling when we’ve made a terrible mistake. For me, it was the Theranos-esque business I landed in under the shiny things; the diamonds. New laptops and screens, opportunities for growth, Rihanna. It didn’t take long to plug the technology in to realise it was a sham - there were no opportunities or a viable product - only forever growing demands and expectations for staff to shape shift their capabilities to meet client requests. These requests were unclear and/or unrealistic, and were drastically under scoped by management who had little to no idea. Rihanna would be disappointed, her intent for the song was very different and it’s a sad oxymoron. In Struber’s context, you could never shine, you were always in a pre-diamond phase where only pressure was applied. A professional purgatory. Management were erratic and careless, offering no support, emotional or otherwise, to the people who were expected to go above and beyond. We’ve all heard about Elizabeth Holmes and how easy it is to sell a dream, but this was a waking nightmare. In some regards, and maybe it’s just the adaptation in The Dropout (highly recommend), Elizabeth’s character was initially endearing. She had a vision that, if it worked, could’ve made such a lasting difference to American healthcare. But bless, she had no idea how to roll it out. The only vision Struber management has is to grow their property portfolios (highly do not recommend).

Pros

Remuneration can seem attractive, but it's not worth it - don't accept a job here. It’ll be career suicide for you.

Cons

Run by egotistical lunatics who have absolutely no idea, where do you even start reviewing this disaster of a company? It’s fake from top to bottom — toxic leadership, clueless management, a reputation in ruins, and politics everywhere you turn. Most of the people in charge don’t have the faintest idea what they’re doing, and it shows. The place has been spiraling badly and is clearly on the way down. The usual cycle plays out again and again: staff fired on a whim, either because they didn’t magically bring in business overnight, or because they weren’t on the owners’ favourites list. Working here drains you of any sense of purpose or joy — it eats away at your soul. No paycheck is worth the chaos, instability, and dysfunction that define this company. If you value your sanity, run in the opposite direction. Don’t be a Struber, you’ll end up being a loser. Also feel sorry for the off-shore Phillipines team being worked to the bone and being paid a pittance.
