Pros
It’s relaxed and most employees from the team are nice
Cons
No training / trained by people who haven’t been trained unfair treatment / lack of inclusivity if you’re not Italian management lack empathy, compassion and communication Manager doesnt speak to staff Rotas published late Unsafe environment - rusty hangers, broken plastic boxes that give you scratches, hole in wall with insulation exposed, dirty mop that’s never been changed which is used in bathrooms, outside, in kitchen as well as on the shop floor - cross contamination - then expected to throw mop water down a toilet. no access to warm water which is a health and safety standard practice, no drinking water on the premise. Management makes the rota based on their schedule and rarely does closing shifts Wi-Fi is inconsistent making the tills slow and customers impatient so they walk out of the shop Card machines declined payments and double charge people who then ring the store to ask for help because theres no customer service phone number Broken hoover - management aren’t concerned because they do not clean Manager do not check in on new employees regular sales assistants have to train new employees even though this is above their pay grade No sign of growth or promotion opportunities Kitchen / break room / office is small and when all managers from higher up are in the store all of them stand in there in the way and use the only break chairs communicating in Italian whilst you try and use the kitchen facilities and have unpaid lunch break - employees end up eating on the stairs by toilets or in stockroom Sales assistants expected to clean the hand towels from bathrooms at home in their own washing machines unpaid labour Expected to do work above pay grade Very very quick staff turnover - staff will only be there for a month. Average maximum length of stay was 3 months Same songs everyday
