Pros

Three of SumProp's five core values are managed well. These include Fiscal Responsibility (weekly meetings & detailed tracking), Safety (weekly organized conference calls, job site inspections, training, etc,), and Integrity (no tolerance for dishonesty). SumProp has a good group of talented field superintendents who are typically willing to travel throughout the country wherever the job requires. In most instances employees are allowed to work remotely (from home when not at the job site).

Cons

Two of their five core values are dismally neglected that result in an unpleasant work culture. "People" as a core value, but my feeling was that management simply considers it the number of crew assigned to a job rather than really understanding what motivates and makes an employee happy during the daily grind. There's very little tolerance for occasional personal challenges. Teamwork is the 5th core value that only seems to become evident on high profile (high visibility) projects. Working late into the night is routine for almost all projects. Team support shows up only by day from the project accountant and the SumProp superintendent during normal jobsite work hours.
